CBME MBBS Program

UCT offers a 4.5-year MBBS programme designed to provide students with comprehensive medical education and practical training. The programme is divided into nine semesters, each spanning six months, followed by a mandatory one-year rotating internship that allows students to gain hands-on experience in different medical specialties.Each semester includes 120 teaching days, with eight hours of academic activities scheduled daily, including a one-hour lunch break. This structured approach ensures a balanced learning experience, combining theoretical knowledge with practical medical exposure.

CRMI Clinical Internship

At UCT, students receive hands-on clinical training in some of the country's best hospitals. The National Hospital's modern facilities and diverse clinical posting opportunities expose students to a wide range of medical settings and patient populations, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to handle the challenges of their future medical careers.From the third to the ninth semester, students participate in three-hour daily clinical postings across various medical departments, as outlined in the curriculum. These postings are preceded by two-week introductory courses in Clinical Methods in Medicine and Surgery for the entire class, ensuring students develop a strong foundation before beginning practical hospital training.
